Having Fun Creating Pizza!

Husband and wife team Matt and Kristen Griffin are the chef/owners of Fire in The Kitchen Pizza.

After many years each in separate careers with greatly diverging schedules, they found a business that lets them spend time together while working. They both are very excited about this shared business venture.

Matt has been a self-employed carpenter his whole life.  Working with his hands and working on fine detail has always come easy to him.  After working long hours in the field, coming home to cook a home cooked meal was his way of releasing all the stress.  He has had a passion for cooking his whole life.  Pizza has always been his favorite thing to create in the kitchen.  After years of practice, he finally perfected his dough recipe. This discovery sparked his interest in sharing his creations with the world.

To feed his passion, Kristen bought him his first wood fired pizza oven - at only 12” x 14”, this oven changed everything.  A few months later, the little oven evolved into an true wood burning oven with a cook surface of 2’ x 3’ - the perfect midsize oven.  Flash forward one year to what we cook on today - a commercial sized wood burning oven that is fixed to a trailer.  At 7000 pounds, this oven is a beast.  

Kristen has been in the restaurant business her entire working career. As a bartender she developed her people skills and restaurant know how.  She has many hobbies but greatly enjoys sharing the passion for the mobile pizza business with her husband.

Both enjoy meeting new people and love to throw a party.  When you book a party with Fire in The Kitchen, they will be your chefs - they don’t send out a crew.

RATES & CALENDAR

Private party price list. 
Our 2022 prices are as follows.  

 

Party of 50 or less is $1100,  plus tax (gratuity is appreciated).

Anyone over the initial 50 is $15 per person in addition. 

This includes up to 2 hours of unlimited pizzas.

We provide paper plates, napkins, and plastic cutlery. 
For an additional $100 salad or dessert pizza’s are available. 

A $500 deposit is required to hold the date.

A Final head count is needed one week

prior to the event. 

A travel fee of $100 per hour of drive time from Clinton CT. 

Our menu is seasonal, and some options are not always available. However we always bring 8-10 different Varieties of pies including our classics along with a few seasonal specialties.

FAQS

How do I book a party?

Use the contact us section on this site, email us at fireinthekitchen007@gmail.com, or call us directly.


How far in advance do I have to book?

30 days in advance would be great, however we do understand a busy lifestyle, and appreciate spontaneity.


What if I need to cancel?

We require 10 days or more of notice of event cancellation for your deposit to be returned.


How much is it if I have less then 50 people?

The pricing is for up to 50 people, if you have less, the price is the same.


What is your minimum number of people?

There is no minimum.


What is your maximum party number?

Our oven can accommodate 125 people, we will need to rent another oven for parties larger then this at an additional fee.
 

When do you need to know our final count?

One week prior to your event.

 

What if my party number changes last minute?

Notification of party size change must be made one week prior for any price adjustment.

Do I have to pay full price for children?

Children under 5 are free.
 

Do you do parties outside of Connecticut?

We will travel all of CT, and some of NY, MA, RI. Travel fees will apply.

 

Do you have a restaurant?

Nope, Just the truck.

​

What happens if it rains?

We have a tent to cover our prep station and can have the pizzas sent into your house.

 

Can you park in the backyard?

If the ground is level and firm enough, yes.  The truck and trailer are very heavy, we are not responsible for any damage, ie, septic systems, water sprinklers, grass, walls….
 

Can you park on the street in front of my house?

If the road permits it, and if there is room for us to prep, and cars to get by.


What are the truck dimensions?

The truck is 22' and trailer is 13' long. 


How do you choose what pizzas you will serve?

We always bring our basic lineup, plus we choose 2-3 more seasonal pies.


Is your menu flexible?

Yes, we can combine ingredients in ways other than on our menu. We like to use ingredients that are in season.


Do you take requests for pizzas during the event?

We will after the initial rush, if we have the ingredients with us.


Do you do gluten free pizzas?

No.


What do you provide?

We will bring paper plates, napkins and forks.


Will you provide beverages?

We will if asked in advance for an additional cost.
